Job Description
A U.S. Congressional campaign is looking for highly motivated self-starters to join our team as Voter Outreach Interns! This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in politics and community engagement to learn how a real grassroots campaign operates. As a voter outreach intern, your mission will be to help us motivate as many people as possible to get out and vote in this year’s midterm elections. This position will require you to travel and have reliable transportation. You will be trained on proper voter contact and will be taking a lot of direction remotely. Our hours and scheduling can be flexible. This position is unpaid. Responsibilities: - Canvas, phone bank, or staff the campaign office four to five times per week, in 3-hour shifts. - Commit to approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. - Become a super user of key productivity and voter contact technologies, such as MiniVAN, VAN, and Relay. Qualifications: This position does NOT require a college degree or previous experience with a political campaign. However, all candidates must: - Possess a valid U.S. driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation. - Be willing to travel to their assigned region in Texas. - Expect to regularly work evening and weekend hours. - Be available to work through November 6th.
