Background

WE Dems is a political action committee (PAC) with a vision to increase voter education and engagement in TX-10 to elect democrats up and down the ballot. The way we do that is by continuously identifying and activating infrequent voters through data driven multi-touch marketing campaigns. 

Job overview

We need a volunteer to assist our website manager. The website manager assistant will help with the planning, development, maintenance, and optimization of our digital presence. They ensure the website is functional, secure, aligned with brand strategy, and optimized for user experience (UX) to drive traffic and conversion goals.

This role requires proficiency in website software such as SquareSpace, Google Analytics and Tag Manager. 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage Website Platform & CMS: Oversees Content Management System (currently SquareSpace), creates landing pages, ensuring updates, plugins, and integrations are fully functional. Posting content

  • SEO & Digital Marketing: Leading on-page and technical SEO, tracking web traffic, and configuring dashboards in tools like Google Analytics and Tag Manager.

  • User Experience (UX) & Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Mapping the customer journey, creating landing pages, and conducting A/B testing to ensure visitors easily convert into donors or volunteers.

  • Security & Maintenance: Ensuring domain is updated, managing hosting, running regular backups, and protecting against security vulnerabilities.

  • Meet deadlines. Manage time effectively to deliver high-quality designs on schedule.

Qualifications and skills

  • Education. A background in website management or other Information Technology experience. 

  • Adaptability. Flexibility to adjust a website based on feedback and evolving project requirements.

  • Problem-solving skills. Creative ability to overcome website challenges and deliver effective solutions.

  • Experience: 1-3+ years in digital marketing, web operations, or web development.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with CMS platforms, especially SquareSpace, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript basics.

  • Analytical Tools: Mastery of Google Analytics and SEO tools (like Ahrefs or Semrush).
