Texas Politics Project Time Series: Texans' Views of the Economy

The University of Texas/Texas Politics Project poll regularly asks Texas voters to provide their assessment of national, state, and personal economic conditions. The trend graphics for those views are presented below and updated with each survey.

National Economy

Respondents are asked, "Compared to a year ago, would you say that the national economy is a lot better off, somewhat better off, about the same, somewhat worse off, or a lot worse off?"

Texas State Economy

Respondents are asked, "Compared to a year ago, would you say that the Texas economy is a lot better off, somewhat better off, about the same, somewhat worse off, or a lot worse off?"

Personal Economic Circumstances

Respondents are asked, "Compared to a year ago, would you say that you and your family are economically a lot better off, somewhat better off, about the same, somewhat worse off, or a lot worse off?"

Future Economic Conditions

Respondents are asked, "A year from now, do you expect that the national economy will be a lot better off, somewhat better off, about the same, somewhat worse off, or a lot worse off?"
