Campaign Fellowship

Offered By:
MJ For Texas
Job Location:
Austin
Salary:
Unpaid
Job Description:
The MJ for Texas Congressional Campaign is now accepting resumes for internship and fellowship positions. Positions are part-time, unpaid, and can be completed for academic credit. Interns and fellows are a vital part of our operation, play a key role in building excitement in communities and campuses throughout the district and surrounding areas, and will gain invaluable work experience. Internships provide a tremendous opportunity to learn firsthand about the tools and methods that community organizers, finance staff, and campaign managers use to run an effective political campaign. Intern duties will include: staffing fundraisers and campaign events, assisting with donor research and outreach, community organizing, representing the campaign at community events and parades, contributing to policy research and other projects, volunteer recruitment and management, assisting with graphic design and social media, drafting press releases and compiling news clips. MJ is an Air Force veteran with three tours in Afghanistan as a rescue helicopter pilot. After being shot down on her third tour, she earned the Purple Heart defending her crew and patients from enemy fire. This race in suburban Austin will be critical in Democrats chances of taking back the house. A recent poll had MJ leading her opponent by two points.
