Communications Fellow
Get your writing in front of reporters this fall. Seeker Strategies is a progressive communications and advocacy firm that guides clients through an ever-changing cultural, political, and regulatory landscape. We are seeking a fellow for the fall semester to support our work. This fellowship will focus primarily on communications and media relations, which may include drafting and sending press releases, media advisories, op-eds, letters to the editor, and newsletters; pitching reporters and news desks by phone and email; maintaining press lists; researching issues, opposition, and reporters' beats; writing talking points for candidates, coalition partners, and clients; and other communications tasks.
Requirements:
Must be willing to work 15-20 hours per week
Must be able to work in person at least two days per week
Must be able to attend weekly all-staff meetings on Mondays at 10:00 am
Who we're looking for:
You write clearly and fast. You follow the news and politics closely. You're willing to cold-call a newsroom. You catch typos, including your own.
You do not need prior campaign, agency, or Capitol experience. Students of any major and any year are encouraged to apply.
