Full Time
Hybrid based in Austin, TX with occasional travel
Evening and weekend hours required as needed
Start date: May 1

The Campaign Assistant will play a central role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the campaign, with a focus on organizing, volunteer coordination, communications, and event planning. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position ideal for someone who is highly organized, people-oriented, and excited to help build a strong grassroots operation.

 

Key Responsibilities

Organizing & Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers to support campaign activities

  • Coordinate and schedule block walks, phone banks, and community outreach efforts

  • Maintain strong relationships with volunteers to ensure engagement and retention

Operations & Administration

  • Manage and maintain volunteer data using VAN

  • Support internal systems, scheduling, and campaign logistics

  • Track outreach metrics and assist in reporting and strategic planning

Communications & Social Media

  • Assist in drafting and scheduling social media content across platforms

  • Support campaign digital engagement and messaging efforts

  • Help manage email communications and supporter outreach

Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan, organize, and staff campaign events, fundraisers, and community appearances

  • Coordinate event logistics including venues, materials, and volunteer staffing

  • Ensure smooth execution of all campaign events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Familiarity with VAN or similar data tools is a plus

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter who works well both independently and as part of a team

  • Experience in political campaigns, community organizing, or volunteer management preferred

Compensation & Details

  • Full-time, paid position (salary commensurate with experience)

  • Hybrid role in Travis or Brazos County

  • Opportunity to play a key role in a growing, grassroots Congressional campaign
