Digital Summer Fellows

Digital Summer Fellows Jolt is seeking creative and digital savvy full time fellows to work directly with the Communications Director to assist in content development, social media management, and the execution of digital of communications campaigns to energize Latinx voter. This person’s daily responsibilities might include: creating content for Jolt’s social media platforms, research, archiving, blogging, live tweeting, and helping develop creative ideas to energize Texas voters. Duties and Responsibilities Help manage Jolt’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram accounts Support the Communications Director in collecting relevant and topical news stories Research and distribute information on current events, relevant legislation, trends, and pop culture Archive past campaign creative materials and analytics Help with development distribution of shareable content to social media influencers Provide administrative support to Jolt Artists volunteer committee: scheduling meetings, securing materials, and helping direct volunteer work Support with other administrative and logistical tasks such scheduling photo/video shoots, measuring success of content, managing influencers contact database, distributing marketing materials Qualifications Excellent writing and editing skills Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram Knowledge of Google Docs and Google Sheets Knowledge of WordPress or HTML a plus Flexibility, good time management, and attention to detail Self-directed, proactive and solutions-driven A commitment to social justice and empowering underserved communities An innate interest understanding of pop culture and news Positive attitude, detail oriented with good multitasking, communication, and organizational skills Dates of Internship June 15, 2018 to August 10, 2018 Reports To & Location This position reports directly to the Jolt Communications Director and is based in Garland, Texas. Salary & Benefits Housing provided by Jolt in Garland, Texas with other summer interns $100 monthly stipend will be provided per person Food for household each month Washer/Dryer provided Transportation - car or public transportation provided
