Job Description
Representative Ron Simmons' office is looking for interns for the for the 2014 Fall Semester. Interns will be expected to be punctual, organized, and able to commit to work at least 10 hours a week. Selected candidates will be given an opportunity to assist staff in legislative and administrative needs while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the legislative process. Typical tasks include answering phones, meeting with visitors, managing incoming letters and e-mails, constituent casework, letter writing, and policy research. Qualifications include strong writing, communication, and computer skills. Applicants with prior legislative experience will be given stronger consideration, but experience is not required. We will work with any university academic office to help provide academic credit when possible.
