Wendy Davis for Congress is accepting applications for finance interns to support our fundraising team going into the 2020 election cycle as we gear up to turn Texas Congressional District 21 blue by sending Wendy Davis to Washington, D.C.! “Is life really about our circumstances and what we make of them or is it about those that we touch along the way and the courage we gain from each other? I’ve learned that I’m at my best when I’m fighting for people...because it isn’t personal achievements or failures that create change, it’s working together to fight for what matters.” - Wendy Davis Wendy Davis is a Democratic candidate for Texas Congressional District 21 which stretches from Austin to San Antonio. She is the founding director of Deeds Not Words, a non-profit that seeks to empower and activate the voices of young women in public and political discourse, a former Texas State Senator, and the 2014 Texas Democratic Gubernatorial nominee. Wendy gained national prominence in 2013 when she strapped on a pair of pink sneakers and held a 13-hour filibuster to protect women’s reproductive freedoms in Texas. Wendy is running in a DCCC priority “Red-to-Blue” district which her opponent, Chip Roy, won in 2018 with only 50.3% of the vote making this one of the most flippable districts for 2020. Prospective applicants should apply if they are interested in sharpening their skills in the following: Donor prospecting Database management Event planning Administrative duties Be ready to gain hands-on experience on a political campaign and work in Democratic politics! Qualifications: Microsoft Word & Excel experience preferred A great attitude, willingness to learn on your feet and be flexible, and excitement to win!
