Intern

Travis County Judge Andy Brown’s office is looking for a fall intern. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are interested in public service, local government, communications or constituent advocacy. Interns work directly alongside staff, gaining firsthand experience in the administration of county government, constituent services and community engagement. Scheduling for this internship will be between 10-15 hours per week, and a Tuesday/Thursday schedule is preferred.

What you’re likely to do:

·         Assist constituents in signing up for public comment

·         Monitor sign in at Commissioner’s Court

·         Create content for social media

·         Conduct research on policy questions

·         Support staff in day-to-day operations

·         Special projects

You’re a good fit if you:

·         Are interested in learning about local government processes

·         You’re flexible on the job and can pivot quickly when necessary

·         You enjoy helping problem-solve and are proactive with constituents

·         Your vision of teamwork is pitching in, asking questions and working diligently towards a common goal
