Job Description: 
Environment Texas is a non-profit advocate for clean air, clean water and open spaces. This legislative session we're working to get lead out of the drinking water of Texas schools, protect bees and other pollinators, and work for clean air. We are looking for a talented intern to serve as the Legislative Assistant to our Director Luke Metzger. The San Antonio Current has called Mr. Metzger "long one of the most energetic and dedicated defenders of environmental issues in the state" and Capitol Inside named him one of the "Top Lobbyists for Causes." As his Legislative Assistant, you'll help him monitor legislation, lobby lawmakers, prepare testimony and factsheets, and rally public support. Specific responsibilities will include research and writing, regularly visiting offices at the Texas Capitol to build support for Environment Texas' legislative agenda, participating in strategy meetings with coalition partners, helping draft press releases and contact reporters, and more.
