Legislative Intern

The office of Representative Ron Simmons is looking for interns for the for Summer 2016. Interns will be expected to be punctual, organized, and able to commit to work at least 10 hours a week. Selected candidates will be given an opportunity to assist staff in legislative and administrative needs while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the legislative process. Typical tasks include answering phones, meeting with visitors, managing incoming letters and e-mails, constituent casework, constituent recognition projects, letter writing, and policy research. Qualifications include strong writing, communication, and computer skills. Applicants with prior legislative or communications experience will be given stronger consideration, but experience is not required.
