Legislative Internship

Senator Cruz's Internship Program offers Texas students a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the inner workings of Congress. There are two six-week sessions during the summer as well as full-semester internships in both the spring and fall. Internships are available in our following offices: Washington, D.C. (404 Russell, Washington, DC 20510) Austin (300 E 8th, Suite 961, Austin, TX 78701) Dallas (Lee Park Tower II, 3626 N. Hall St., Suite 410, Dallas, TX 75219) Houston (Mickey Leland Federal Building, 1919 Smith Street, Suite 9047, Houston, TX 77002) San Antonio (9901 IH-10W, Suite 950, San Antonio, TX 78230) 1. A cover letter detailing why you would like to be an intern in Senator Ted Cruz's office 2. A one page resume 3. Two letters of recommendation (Letters may be emailed separately) 4. A college transcript 5. A one to two page college writing sample 6. Note at which office you are applying to intern Due Dates: • Summer internships: completed packets are due the first Friday in March. • Fall semester internships: completed packets are due the last Friday in July. • Spring semester internships: completed packets are due the last Friday in November. Priority is given to students either from Texas or students enrolled in a Texas school who have completed at least their sophomore year of college. This is a highly competitive process. Due to the limited amount of space and resources available, there are usually more qualified applicants than positions available. Internships are unpaid, however, it is possible to receive internship course credit pending approval by the respective college or university.
