Job Description

The Senate Hispanic Research Council (SHRC) is recruiting undergraduate, graduate students, and recent graduates to apply for the Senator Gregory Luna Scholars and Fellows Program.  This paid, full-time legislative internship offers emerging leaders the opportunity to work in the Texas Legislature, gain meaningful professional experience, and develop a better understanding of how public policy is shaped.

Scholars and Fellows work alongside experienced legislative staff in the office of a Texas State Senator, supporting legislative research, tracking legislation, and constituent services. Through legislative work, a weekly Speaker Series, and opportunities to connect with policy and thought leaders, participants strengthen their skills, broaden their professional networks, and gain new perspectives on Texas government and public policy.
