DIVISION: Communications and Information Services
WORK HOURS:
Hours are Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs basic (entry level) graphic design, layout and production work for the Graphics and Outreach and Editorial teams of Communications and Information Services. Work involves basic creative development, layout, production, large format printing, sourcing imagery, using type styles/design and printing preparation. Must be able to work on a MAC using Adobe Creative Cloud software
Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and production of one pagers, forms, publications, paper system items, signage, social media graphics, online graphics and other external and internal communication materials
Support agency photographer with photo editing and compiling; sourcing imagery on stock sources
Operate large format printer, handle mounting and laminating, trimming and other digital printing
Convert and make necessary adjustments to PDF documents to ensure 508 compliance and accessibility
General support of the Graphics team and other duties as assigned by division
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS SECTION
EDUCATION:
Currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited college or university and have completed at least four semesters.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Pursuing bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, communications, journalism, advertising, public relations or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year experience in graphic design role.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
One additional year experience in graphic design, communication or multimedia role.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
None.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
• Creative approach to graphic design
• Typography
• Computer based graphic design applications
• Photography selection and manipulation
• Production methods
• Prepress and print techniques/processes
• digital/social media channels and communication
• 508 compliance for accessibility
SKILLS IN:
• Using the Apple Macintosh computer platform, operating graphic design equipment and various graphic design software packages, using Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite which includes InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat, and digital photography
• Conducting multiple creative assignments using innovative and independent ideas
• Utilizing various database and project tracking applications (ie. Filemaker Pro and Airtable)
• effectively conveying information and encouraging an exchange of ideas (Communication)
• identifying, defining and solving problems (Problem Solving)

CPA employees in the same job classification, if selected, will be laterally transferred with no increase in salary. (An example might be an Accounts Examiner III in Revenue Administration who moves to an Accounts Examiner III in the Enforcement division.)
